About Us

Picture

My journey didn't solely revolve around cycling; I explored various other sports, including rowing, where I competed in a 4-man Shell and even qualified for the European finals in France.

Scorpion Bike Wheels - Building the Brand

1. With two decades of experience as a National Technical Director for an electronics company, my career was defined by spearheading research and development efforts for numerous companies, always striving to create products that resonated with end-users while pushing the boundaries of design, innovation, and quality control.

2. Recognizing the limitations imposed by off-the-shelf products from big-name brands, my mission began with the vision of offering cyclists personalized, high-performance wheels at price points that weekend riders could afford. I questioned why cyclists should settle for exorbitantly priced products simply because of a prestigious brand label, igniting my quest to democratize access to quality cycling equipment.

I set forth to redefine the wheel-building landscape by prioritizing performance, value, component selection, and rider-centric design. By aligning with emerging trends and real-world demands, I aimed to craft wheels that not only met but exceeded the expectations of cyclists worldwide.

Scorpion Wheels wheels, particularly the Venom SLD40, are well-regarded as a high-value, stiff, and lightweight upgrade, often retailing around $1350. They offer significant performance improvements over stock wheels, providing a faster, more responsive feel during accelerations. These wheels are generally considered a solid, cost-effective option for enhancing overall ride quality.
Key Takeaways
  • Performance: Reviews highlight a stiff, responsive ride, making them feel fast on both climbs and flats.
  • Value: Positioned as a high-value option compared to more expensive, branded alternatives.
  • Construction: The Venom 40 model is a 40mm deep, wide-profile rim suited for modern, wider tires.
  • Value Proposition: They provide a noticeable upgrade in stiffness and speed compared to stock options like DT Swiss.
Based on user experiences, the Scorpion wheels are a strong contender for those looking for a performance boost without the premium price tag of major, established brands.
